Detectives captured Jeremy Mark Singh Monday morning after a six-day search for the alleged attempted murder suspect, a sheriff's official said.

Singh, 20, was wanted for several crimes, the most recent his alleged involvement in a Sept. 14 attempted murder in Canyon Country, said Sgt. Ron Price of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

Deputies circulated fliers Nov. 5 asking the community for information on Singh. Deputies acting on a tip found Singh hiding at Laura Jean Mathis's Canyon Country apartment, Price said. Mathis and Singh are friends, he said.

Mathis denied any knowledge of Singh's whereabouts when she was questioned by deputies at her apartment Monday, Price said. She did let detectives search her apartment. Singh was found in a closet and was arrested without incident, he said. Mathis was also taken into custody and charged with harboring a criminal.

Singh was charged with attempted murder and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. He is due in Santa Clarita Superior Court at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Price said.

Mathis is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail and is due in Santa Clarita Superior Court at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Price said.
