Rose Society meets

The Santa Clarita Valley Rose Society meets the second Sunday of each month, except July and August.

Meetings are held at 2:30 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center, 22900 Market St., Newhall,

The Santa Clarita Valley Rose Society, was founded in 1992

Meetings feature guest speakers on rose topics such as fertilizing and planting roses, door prizes, raffles, and Little Rose Show.  All visitors are welcome.

The next meeting will be held on Sunday, Feb. 12.

The speakers at the meeting will be rose experts Steve and Susie Jones, who will share slides of their 2011 trip to Europe.

The couple visited 10 countries and judged rose trials and visited numerous rose gardens.

The SCV Rose Society is a non-profit educational organization serving the needs of rose gardeners.

The annual rose garden tour will be held April 29. Locations to be announced.

The annual SCV Rose Society “Wild West” Rose Show will be held Nov. 3.

Annual membership is $20 per family, per calendar year. Includes nine issues of the award-winning newsletter “Rose Ecstasy.”
