A head-on collision early Sunday morning caused concern for a pregnant woman whose “water broke” during the incident.

The woman is reportedly fine following the collision, said Commander Anthony LaBerge of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

There is no word yet on the condition of the child she was carrying.

At about 6:38 a.m. Sunday, two vehicles collided head-on at the intersection of Dockweiler Drive and Sierra Highway.

“Three people were injured in a head-on collision,” LaBerge said. “One of them was a woman, a passenger, who was pregnant.”

At 8:25 a.m., sheriff’s deputies received an update on her condition.

“She is doing fine and in stable condition,” said LaBerge.

The two drivers suffered no significant injury, he said, adding that the woman’s injury was reportedly the most significant.

“We transported one person to hospital,” said a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“Paramedics reported that a pregnant woman’s water broke,” he said, referring to the release of amniotic fluid.
