Ronald K. Brown's Evidence, A Dance Company will dance a repertory program including the West Coast premiere of "On Earth Together" choreographed by Brown and set to the music of Stevie Wonder, "Ebony Magazine: To A Village" and Brown's critically acclaimed "Grace."

The company will perform on March 9, 10 and 11 at the Music Center's Ahmanson Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.
Evidence, A Dance Company was previously co-presented by the Music Center in the 2006-2007 season in collaboration with the REDCAT (Roy and Edna Disney CalArts Theater).

Clarice Young, a rehearsal assistant and dancer with the company, said she is looking forward to dancing in Los Angeles.
Young, of New Roads, La., is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she received her BFA in dance.

"I have to stop myself from singing the words when I dance to Stevie Wonder's music," said Young. "Everyone has at least one Stevie Wonder song that they love."

Young said the experience of dancing to Wonder's music is a rich one.

"I use the words to motivate me when I dance," she said.

Young said Wonder's music gives the dancers a wealth of emotion to draw from.

"There's so much feeling that the music evokes," she said. "I enjoy it."

Using Wonder's music is a way of making dance accessible to all audiences, said Young.

"Even if you don't usually attend dance performances you will enjoy this performance because of Stevie's music," she said.

"You will find yourself feeling as if you are a part of it."

Young said the experience of live performance is also unique.

"If you have a love of the arts you should come and see this production," said Young. "I know people will appreciate it."

Evidence, A Dance Company will appear at the Ahmanson Theatre, 135 North Grand Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90012. Friday, March 9 - 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 10 - 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 11 - 2 p.m. Tickets are $28 - $110 available at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion Box Office, 135 N Grand Ave. at Temple St., Los Angeles, CA USA 90012.
