Well, St. Patrick's Day is on a Saturday this year - tomorrow, in case you haven't been paying attention. That being the case, celebrations will naturally be larger and longer and you'll need to be careful not to overdo it. Here are the local St. Patrick's Day happenings, as well as those big ones in the greater L.A. area. Enjoy and be safe.

The Courtyard by Marriott will host a St. Patrick's Day party from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., featuring live music by Parker Road. Full bar, $4 margaritas $3 green beer, $2 tacos. $10 per person cover.

Dink's will have corned beef and cabbage with red potatoes and a side salad ($14) from 11 a.m. to close, and offer green beer (Bud Light) for 99 cents all day.

Head over to Santa Clarita's first "Certified Green Restaurant" for live Irish music from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on St. Patrick's Day. (Doors open at 4 p.m.) The menu will include corned beef and cabbage and Irish lamb stew, served with homemade soda bread. Guinness on tap, green beer and featured drinks. No reservations required, families welcome. No cover charge.

J.R.'s has a great lineup on St. Patrick's Day weekend, with Rob Little, who was named comedian of the year by Maxim Magazine, and Paul Morrissey, who has made a record five appearances on The Craig Ferguson Show, both appearing Friday and Saturday night at 9 p.m. $15 cover, dinner and the show starting at $27.99.

At 6 p.m. the Knights of Columbus will host their 36th St. Patrick's Day Celebration, with a dinner (starts about 7 p.m.) of corned beef and cabbage, Irish potatoes and carrots, Irish soda bread and desserts. Entertainment will be provided by Irish musicians, dancers and singers. Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under.

Knights of Columbus
St. Patrick's Day Race

Starting at 9 a.m., rain or shine, the Knights of Columbus will host their 32nd St. Patrick's Day Race, supported by the Santa Clarita Runners and Runners Lane. The 5K will be held at Central Park again this year, at 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road in Saugus. Race day registration is $25; $30 with race T-shirt. Entry fee reduced for youths under 17.

St. Patrick's Day Parade  
The annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Hermosa Beach starts at 11 a.m. The parade begins at the staging area near the tennis courts on Valley Drive (near 11th street), makes a left onto Pier Avenue, turns left on Hermosa Avenue and ends at Hermosa Avenue and 10th street.
