The Emergency Expo will be held as a companion with the Home and Garden Show in the Hyatt parking lot. The Expo will promote how to be ready and resilient for disasters. Splash and Dash Egg Hunt, 10-11 a.m., Santa Clarita Aquatic Center Waterslide Pool, 20850 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita. Bring your little ones to collect eggs with prizes in the Waterslide Pool. After you make a splash stay to play in the heated water. A parent must accompany all children. Saturday, April 14

Los Angeles County Household Harardous Waste (HHW) Roundup 9: a.m.-3 p.m. at College of the Canyons South Parking Lot, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Valencia. Operated by the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works and the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts. This one-day, drive-through HHW collection event for residents to drop off their household hazardous waste. There is a transportation limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds of hazardous waste per trip. Sunday, April 22

The Knights of Columbus host an Italian dinner 4-7 p.m. Sunday, April 22 in Parish Hall at St. Clare Catholic Church, 19606 Calla Way, Canyon Country. Costs $9 for adults, $8 for seniors, $5 for children. Proceeds benefit the Knights of Columbus Wheelchair Foundation, which purchases and delivers wheelchairs to the needy. Castaic Lions Club  scholarship deadline

The Castaic Lions Charity Foundation is pleased to announce that it will be offering the Lion Walt James Scholarship. To be eligible for the Lion Walt James Scholarship students must be a resident of Castaic or Val Verde, and be a graduating senior in 2012. The Lion Walt James Scholarship Applications Packet must be postmarked on or before April 14. The Lion Walt James Scholarship Application may be downloaded from the Lions website located at

Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital’s free Spine Education Program is now also offered at the Outpatient Physical Therapy’s location in the Golden Valley Plaza. The class offers valuable information on how you can take better care of your spine, including lifestyle changes that may help with pain management and prevent future injuries. Special exhibit at Hart Museum

The William S. Hart Museum will host an exhibit featuring objects in the Natural History Museum and Hart Museum relevant to two Academy Award Best Picture nominees, “Hugo” and “The Artist,” through June 3. Learn about the costumes, film props, equipment and historial artifacts used in both films. Museum hours are 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with tours every half-hour. Free admission. William S.
