AMS Fulfillment of Santa Clarita is installing the merchandise inventory storage racks at its newest building and plans to open for operation May 15.

The company is moving all of its footwear accounts, except TOMS shoes, into the new 121,409-square-foot location including its newest account EMU Australian sheepskin footwear, said owners and operators Ken Wiseman and Jay Catlin.

AMS competed against other companies for the space, Wiseman said. Industrial vacancy rates are low and have been hovering around 2 percent in the SCV.

“We’ve taken the building away from another business that wanted to relocate to Santa Clarita,” Catlin said.

The previous company was moving its pallets out as AMS was moving their racks in for installation the men said.

This is the 13th building the company has leased for its order-fulfillment business, more than doubling the number the number of buildings they occupy in under a year. Business has grown by more than 100 percent, the owners said.
