Petty Theft
Servilla Place, Saugus
Thieves stole $110 worth of property from an unlocked white 2000 Toyota van between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. March 27. The vehicle belonged to a 55-year-old Saugus man and had been parked on Servilla Place, a sheriff's report said. The stolen property included sunglasses and a cellphone.

Vehicle Burglary
23700 block of Valle Del Oro, Newhall
Thieves shattered the right front window of a red 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse belonging to a 20-year-old Newhall man between 1:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday and stole $600 worth of items, a sheriff's report said. Property taken from the car included various stereo equipment and an iPod Nano. The estimated cost to replace the window is $100.

18300 block of Sierra Highway, Canyon Country
Thieves broke into Ridgeline Market on Sierra Highway between 9 p.m. last Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday to steal $7,650 in cigarettes, $350 in Swisher Sweets and $55 in cigarette rolling paper, a sheriff's report said. The thieves most likely shoved a metal rod through the mail slot in the door and used it to depress the door lock, the report said. The store does not have a security camera, the report said.

Public Intoxication
Steinbeck Avenue, Stevenson Ranch Parkway, Stevenson Ranch
Deputies arrested a 22-year-old Tujunga man for public intoxication after watching him stagger down Steinbeck Avenue, a sheriff's report said. "I'm a hip-hop artist and was going to this dude's house to lay down some beats," the man told deputies. The man also told deputies he had been given drugs at a hospital earlier in the day. "I was coming down off of meth pretty hard," he said. "They gave it to me to calm down."

Grand Theft
28000 block of Industry Drive, Castaic
Thieves sliced through a chain-link fence surrounding a business in Castaic before 3:35 a.m. Monday and used a flatbed truck to steal five $2,500 worth of metal, a sheriff's report said. Deputies watched the business's security film, which showed an adult male cut the fence and a second male adult drive the truck into the yard, the report said.

23400 block of Newhall Ranch Road, Valencia
Thieves smashed the window of a 2011 Toyota Scion to steal $680 worth of property belonging to a 28-year-old Canyon Country woman between 8:40 a.m. and 1:50 p.m. Tuesday. The stolen property included a history textbook and a computer tablet, a sheriff's report said. The estimated cost to replace the window is $400, the report said.

Bouquet Canyon Road, Magic Mountain Parkway, Saugus
Deputies arrested a 38-year-old Saugus man for DUI after watching the silver 1999 Audi he was driving drift back across lanes while traveling north on Railroad Avenue just after 9 p.m. "The vehicle crossed over the lane divider and stopped with both driver-side tires in the No. 1 lane," a sheriff's report said. The driver's eyes were "bloodshot and droopy and he was unable to maintain his balance," the report said.

Grand Theft Auto
Magic Mountain Parkway, Valencia
Thieves stole a silver 2006 Honda Civic from the garage of a home belonging to 61 year-old Valencia man between 10:15 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Thursday, a sheriff's report said. The man told deputies he sometimes forgets to close the garage after parking the car, the report said. An extra key had been left in the car's glove compartment, the report said.
