State Sen. Tony Strickland, R-Moorpark, endorsed Patricia McKeon in her bid for state Assembly, a spokesman for her campaign said Monday.

Strickland, a Republican who in January declared his candidacy for the newly drawn 26th Congressional District seat, had previously endorsed Scott Wilk for the Assembly race, then withdrew that endorsement.

McKeon, wife of Rep. Howard “Buck” McKeon, R-Santa Clarita, is one of three Republican candidates in the 38th Assembly District open primary in June.

The other two Republicans seeking the seat are Wilk and Paul Strickland, a William S. Hart Union High School District board member who is not related to Tony Strickland.
