Alcohol, anger fuels brother's stabbing

Alcohol and an argument allegedly fueled a knife fight that sent one man to the hospital and another away in handcuffs, sheriff's officials said.

The two alleged combatants are brothers, said Sgt. Darren Harris of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station. Juan Bardomiano, 18, allegedly stabbed his 20-year-old brother several times during the confrontation Tuesday.

Alcohol was allegedly involved in the incident, Harris said. The victim's name was not made available.

Deputies arrived at an apartment in the 24000 block of Newhall Avenue at about 4 a.m., Harris said.

Neighbors called reporting a disturbance, and when deputies arrived they found Bardomiano's brother stabbed multiple times, he said.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department treated the victim at the apartment before taking him to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. Deputies did not know his current condition, but the wounds were not believed to be life-threatening, Harris said.

Bardomiano was arrested without incident, Harris said. He was treated for an eye abrasion and was booked at the Sheriff's Station for the investigation of attempted murder.

He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
