Coroners's officials released the name today of a Castaic man killed in a head-on collision in Lancaster.

The victim was identified as Timothy H. McKelvey, 54, Coroner's office spokesman Ed Winter said. McKelvey "probably died of blunt-force trauma," Winter said.

McKelvey, of Castaic, was born Oct. 9, 1957. His autopsy may occur Wednesday, Winter said.

At about 2:40 a.m. Monday, McKelvey was riding a 1982 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on 50th Street East when the Honda sedan, traveling southbound in the northbound lane slammed into the motorcycle.

Marie Delores Hidalgo, 40, of Lancaster, was arrested on the felony charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

"She tried to run away on foot but the CHP arrested her," Winter said.

Hidalgo is being held at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood where she was assigned a cell at 8:33 p.m. Monday, according to arrest records.

She's being held on $100,000 bail, the records showed.
