The California Highway Patrol's wind advisory will remain in effect as dangerous winds whip along Interstate 5, a CHP official said.

The wind advisory was issued at 5 a.m. Friday after CHP officers observed extremely high winds along I-5 north of Castaic, Officer Alex Gonzalez said.

The wind advisory area continues from Castaic along I-5 to the Los Angles and Kern county line, he said.

The advisory applies to all vehicles, but vehicles with high profiles should be especially cautious, Gonzalez said. That includes recreational vehicles, motor homes and large trucks, he said.

Vehicles driving in the area should slow down, Gonzalez said.
