The "Kids Creating Art" Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 2 at the Santa Clarita Valley International Charter School campus in Castaic.

This community-wide event will showcase the talents of local youth through artful displays and hands-on activities. The event will include original art created by young artists, local bands featuring young musicians, a variety of dramatic performances, martial arts demonstrations, carnival games, a reptile petting zoo, face painting, an obstacle course and food trucks.

During the festival, Santa Clarita Valley International will open its classrooms to allow community members to tour the school, view students' projects and learn more about the school's philosophy.

The festival is free to attend; however, wristbands will be available for $7.50 for those interested in participating in the games and hands-on art projects.
