May 8
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs
Valley Street, Newhall
Deputies arrested a 60-year-old Saugus woman driving a 2010 Toyota Rav4 after watching the Toyota cross the center divider while traveling south on Valley Street at 10:29 p.m. May 8. The deputies also watched the Toyota weave from lane to lane before they stopped the woman, a sheriff's report said. The woman's blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit of 0.08, the report said.

Lea Court, Valencia
Thieves entered the garage of a home on Lea Court to steal two bicycles between 11:30 p.m. May 8 and 8:40 a.m. May 9, a sheriff's report said. Taken were a Specialized road bike and a blue Santa Cruz mountain bike, the report said. The value of the missing property is an estimated $14,000, the report said.

5th Street, Pine Street, Newhall
Deputies arrested a 46-year-old man after he tried to cross a street against traffic in Newhall at 7:30 p.m. May 12. The man was a member of a local criminal gang and on parole at the time of his arrest, a sheriff's report said. The conditions of the suspect's parole did not allow him to be in Newhall, the report said. The suspect staggered and swayed and told deputies he had consumed six beers, the report said.

Attempted Burglary
21440 Plane Tree Lane, Newhall
A woman discovered a man trying to pry open the door of her storage unit with a screw driver at 8 p.m. Sunday. The suspect fled east on Plane Tree Lane in a Volkswagen Jetta, the woman said in a sheriff's report. Deputies did not find any obvious signs of tampering, but the door did have marks the woman said came from another attempt to break into the storage unit, the report said.

Public Intoxication
Soledad Canyon Road, Canyon Country
Deputies arrested a 28-year-old transient lying on the ground on Soledad Canyon Road at 4:20 p.m. Sunday. The deputies detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the man and determined he was unable to care for himself, a sheriff's report said.

26500 block of Bouquet Canyon Road, Saugus
Deputies arrested a 23-year-old man driving a green 1997 Honda Accord at 11:17 p.m. in the parking lot of Best Buy after a witness said the man was swerving across Bouquet Canyon Road, a sheriff's report said. Deputies detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the man, the report said. The man's blood alcohol content was just more than twice the legal limit of 0.08, the report said.
