Winds that kicked up in the Santa Clarita Valley this morning were expected to increase throughout the day, possibly reaching 60 miles per hour in the Interstate 5 corridor, the National Weather Service forecast.

Gusts northwest up to 45 miles per hour were expected throughout the Santa Clarita Valley this evening through early Wednesday morning.

Dangerous driving conditions, especially for those in high-profile vehicles, were expected, according to a weather service wind advisory.

The SCV will see cooling temperatures through the rest of the week, with highs forecast for 88 on Wednesday and 80 on Thursday under continuing breezy conditions.

Highs are expected to dip to 70 Friday under partly sunny skies, then head back up for the weekend.
