Letters: Plenty of Steinbeck to go around

A letter to the editor recently complained about a lack of books by author John Steinbeck at the letter-writer’s library branch.

I wanted to offer my apologies to the library patron who was unable to locate the book he wanted at that time and encourage him and others to please ask our friendly library staff for assistance in locating materials.

Currently, the Santa Clarita Public Library has many copies of Steinbeck’s novels in many formats, including several copies of the classic “Of Mice and Men.”

As with the county system, our city library shelves these works in a section called Classics, not in the fiction section.

A simple request to a library staffer would have helped the patron find the desired book very quickly, something we are always happy to do.

For those who enjoy reading the classics, you will be pleased to learn that recently, the Santa Clarita Public Library placed a large order for more classic works.

We encourage you to visit one of our three branches or visit us online at: We look forward to serving you.
