An 18-year-old Valencia student arrested Saturday and charged with attempted rape is out on $100,000 bail.

Jae Man Lim, who lives on Magic Mountain Parkway, was arrested Saturday night by detectives of the Special Victim’s Unit of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and booked into custody on a felony.

Lim is charged with attempted rape by use of drugs/intoxicants, according to information contained in the booking log published by the Inmate Information Center of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department.

He was scheduled to appear in San Fernando Superior Court on the charge Monday, but instead posted bail.

A clerk contacted at the courtroom where he was expected to appear said no alternate appearance date has yet been posted.

“He bailed out,” the clerk said Tuesday.

Lim was released from custody when he posted the $100,000 bail shortly after 2:30 p.m. Monday.
