Business students at West Ranch High School have been taking their assignment seriously.

Students are bringing in items from home to be listed on eBay for donation purposes. Students desire to help out the victims of the recent fires in California, such as the Sylmar and Montecito.

One-hundred percent of all profits will go to the neighboring American Red Cross to help those who have suffered from the fires.

We feel bad for the victims who have lost their homes during the holidays. This is why we want to give back to them and help them have a happier holiday.

This will help us in the future because it will teach us that giving back to the community can help your business. We also learned how to write press releases.

Example of products for sale on the auction site are video games, used jeans, a Coach purse, tennis shoes, jewelry, a new American Rod Company fishing net and running shoes.

You can find the items by going to and typing in "West Ranch High School."

Along with learning about e-commerce, press release writing and grass-roots marketing efforts, students are learning about the importance of community giving.
