Since the demise of the annual Bootlegger's Ball to benefit the Domestic Violence Center of Santa Clarita Valley, New Year's Eve had been without a major event or party to celebrate the turning of the last page of the calendar.

However, last year's inaugural LETMESAIL New Year's Eve Bon Voyage Ball was the sold-out talk of the town and will return to the Hyatt Valencia to celebrate New Year's Eve in the SCV.Whether guests come for the full dinner party or join the fun at the new "After-Dinner Party" the Dec. 31 celebration at the Hyatt Valencia promises to be the biggest celebration in town.

The full dinner party, beginning at 7 p.m., will feature hors d'oeuvres, a four-course dinner and dessert bar. There will be magic in the air this year as a professional magician from the Magic Castle will provide entertainment with sleight-of-hand close-up magic tricks using cards, coins, scarves and ropes to amaze and mystify guests. The swinging music of a live band will be available for guests to dance the night away.

Guests will enjoy many casino game tables, which will feature several kinds of poker, blackjack, roulette and craps. Complimentary casino cash will be given to all those who purchase the complete dinner party package. When players cash-out, they will be given raffle tickets for chances to win gift baskets. "Despite our challenging economic times, we have been able to put together some valuable gift baskets that will be won that night," said Leigh Hart, a member of the New Year's Eve party committee.

Something new this year is the option to buy an affordable "After-Dinner Party Package." Guests will have access to the casino gaming, dessert bar, music and dancing and the midnight festivities, which includes a balloon drop and complimentary champagne.

"After-Dinner" party goers can arrive any time after 8:30 p.m. All those attending will receive a free professional photograph provided by O'Connor Photography.

"We're utilizing some pretty cutting-edge technology at this year's ball. We will be presenting some entertainment, which will include something special at the stroke of midnight. It will be shown on a huge LUXMAX screen similar to those used at trade shows and for outdoor advertising. It's exciting to be able to present various media on such a high-resolution system. Guests will be quite impressed," said Dave Chase, LETMESAIL board member.

"While you will be having the time of your life at the most popular party in Santa Clarita, you will also be supporting LETMESAIL, a non-profit organization providing social, recreational and educational opportunities for teenagers and adults who are differently-abled," said Executive Director Gary Spindt.

Proceeds from the New Year's Eve Bon Voyage Ball fundraiser will support LETMESAIL's life-enhancing programs. This rapidly growing non-profit organization currently serves more than 225 participants with Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, Asperger's Syndrome, hearing and vision impairments and with physical, medical and intellectual disabilities.

The After-Dinner party package is $30 per person. Full Dinner party tickets are $175 each. The Couples Dinner party package sells for $300. For those who don't want to worry about driving home, there is a "take the elevator home" Dinner Party and Hyatt Hotel package at $450 per couple.

"Come with your friends or family members and embark on a special evening to say goodbye to 2008 and welcome to 2009," said Board President Tom Hartmann.

Tickets to the LETMESAIL New Year's Eve Bon Voyage Ball must be purchased in advance. For on-line credit card payments, go For other payment options, or to learn more about LETMESAIL's programs, sponsorship and volunteer opportunities, contact Executive Director Gary Spindt at (661) 702-8555 or
