Westminster store owner shoots suspected robber

WESTMINSTER (AP) — An Orange County store owner has shot and wounded a suspected robber after one of the suspects posed as a disabled man in a wheelchair.

The shooting occurred shortly at 1 p.m. Monday at a Westminster watch shop. Police say the robbery was thwarted by the shop's owner who armed himself with a gun and ordered one of the robbers to drop his gun. When the suspect refused, police say, the owner opened fired.

One suspect was shot once in the head and is listed in critical condition. A second man was arrested and police are searching for a third person.

No other details were immediately made available.
