SAN DIEGO (AP) — Firefighters are fighting a 125-acre fire after putting out several small fires caused by lightning strikes along the Palomar Mountain Range in northern San Diego county.

California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection spokeswoman Roxanne Provaznik says two additional air tankers were ordered Thursday to help beat back flames in the Dodge Valley.

The fire is not threatening any structure.

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service reports that thunderstorms in the region produced half an inch of hail and heavy rain.

A power outage left about 3,000 San Diego Gas & Electric customers around the mountain town of Julian without power for about an hour Thursday afternoon. The utility's spokeswoman, Aida Garcia, said crews were investigating a failure at a substation to see if a lightning strike caused the outages.
