The Hart High football game originally scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Ridgeview High School in Bakersfield has been pushed back to 8 p.m. due to poor air quality, Ridgeview officials said.

According to Laura Boler of Ridgeview High School, the Kern County School District, which includes Ridgeview, does not allow students to participate in athletic events before 6 p.m. when the air quality reaches a certain point.

The junior varsity game is now scheduled to start at 6 p.m., with the varsity game scheduled to start 30 minutes after the completion of the junior varsity game.

According to the Bakersfield Californian, the junior varsity game will be played with a running clock to ensure a prompt start for the varsity game.
