A local registered sex offender arrested in June for violating his parole — and released six weeks later — was arrested again Wednesday for allegedly violating his parole, sheriff’s officials said.

William Greggory Babb, 51, was arrested and jailed in June for a parole violation due to pornography found on his home computer. The porn was discovered during a routine check by parole officers.

Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s Sgt. Kevin Blake confirmed Wednesday that Babb was arrested again and was being “processed” at the Sheriff’s Station jail.

A jailor confirmed he was in custody.

The arrest was made on behalf of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Luis Patino, spokesman for the department, said late Wednesday he was unable to confirm why Babb was arrested.

Caroline Mason, whose son was molested by Babb, said she called the Sheriff’s Department when Babb entered an ice cream shop where he son works this week and asked for the young man by name.

Any contact with her son would be a violation of Babb’s parole.

Mason said Babb was arrested at the Soledad Canyon Road mobile home park where he lives.

In the molestation case against him, Babb pleaded guilty in June 2010 to one felony count of contacting a minor with the intention of engaging in lewd or lascivious behavior.

The charge stems from having preyed on church-going boys in 2010.

The 6-foot, 300-pound Babb was sentenced to the California Institution for Men in Chino and served 361 days.
He was released on Sept. 3, 2011.

He was arrested for the pornography violation on June 15. Babb was held without bail at Men’s Central Jail on Bauchet Street in Los Angeles, where he began serving four months behind bars.

But in early August, after a month of his sentence, he was released from custody and allowed to return to the Santa Clarita Valley mobile home park.
