Power was restored to all Canyon Country residents today following a nearly day-long outage for some customers, a spokeswoman said.

Southern California Edison workers restored power to all customers before 6 p.m., Edison spokeswoman Anna Frutos-Sanchez said.

Power went out last night to more than 1,000 customers due to an underground transformer failure, Frutos-Sanchez said.

Workers had the number of those without power down to 40 earlier today, but additional problems cut power to 282 customers during the day, Frutos-Sanchez said.

"Unfortunately, (while) fixing things, sometimes they start moving things around and other things fail,” she said.

Edison officials said they hoped to have the power back on to everyone by 10 p.m., but power was restored before 6 p.m., she said.
