The Placerita Canyon Nature Center invites all residents to participate in next weekend’s annual Nature Center Holiday Craft Fair.

Residents can create and decorate holiday wreaths, centerpieces and candles using a large assortment of fresh-cut greenery, pine cones and other products of the environment. Children’s crafts are also available.

The event is the only fundraiser for Placerita Canyon Nature Center’s docent organization to provide funding for animal care, educational programs and improvements to the park, officials said.

Parking is free. Crafts for children are $1 to $3, with wreaths and centerpieces ranging from $12 and up.

The center is located at 19152 Placerita Canyon Road in Newhall. Craftmaking will be 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 1 and 2. For more information, call the Nature Center at 661-250-7721.
