The season continued for some Foothill League runners on Saturday, as a trio of Golden Valley and cross country athletes, along with one Valencia runner, took to seeded races at the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships West Regional in Walnut.

Chelsea Totten ran in the girls 5K seeded race, finishing 46th overall in 19 minutes, 47 seconds.

She was the lone Santa Clarita Valley athlete participating in the race.

In the boys 5K seeded race, the Grizzlies’ Nolan Del Valle was 47th in 16:38 and Brendan Tinoco was 107th in 17:16.

Valencia's Alex Allevato ran the course in 17:40 and finished 150th.

“They did pretty well. It was extremely competitive today,” said Golden Valley assistant coach Sara Soltani. “We saw all the many state champions from other West Coast schools and we rarely get to compete against athletes like that. It was an extremely competitive field and I feel like they did great. It’s been a long season and they’ve had a great four years at Golden Valley and I’m excited to see how they continue on in their careers.”

The event was a qualifier for the Foot Locker Cross Country National Championships, which required a top 10 finish in the regional race.

“You can’t go wrong,” Soltani said. “They got to experience the Foot Locker (event) and it’s an honor to be in the top race to compete for the school, and individually most importantly. They did very, very well.”

In the freshman/sophomore boys 3-mile race, Saugus sophomore Jonathan Summer had the SCV’s best placement of the day, completing the race in 17:20 for 27th place overall.

Canyon freshman Caleb McClain finished in 18:26 for a 100th-place finish. Valencia’s Inaqui Loza was 103rd in 18:28, and teammate Matthew Lockhart was 158th in the event in 19:10. Hart’s Joshua Tan was 133rd in 18:57.

The Vikings’ Gabrielle Zacky was 10th in the girls freshman/sophomore 3-mile race in 22:12.

In the boys junior/senior 3-mile race, Hart’s Bailey James was 31st in 17:08.

Lexi Whitman of Valencia High finished 107th (23:03) in the girls junior/senior 5K and teammate Alyssa Rodriguez was 177th (24:49).

The Vikings also had runners compete in the boys junior/senior 5K, with Nick Lentz coming in 131st in 18:43, Jake Higdon (243rd, 20:02), Justin Vong (269, 20:26) and Brian Hicks (231st, 19:50)
