Brett Wilson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel at the Miramar Marine Corp Air Station in January.

Wilson is a 1989 graduate of William S. Hart High School and also attended College of the Canyons.

He is the son of Louise and Michael Wilson, who reside in Santa Clarita.

Wilson recently returned from Camp Leatherneck in the Helmund Province, Afghanistan where he served as the Staff Judge Advocate for the 3rd Marine Wing.

Wilson was previously deployed to Al Anbar Province, Iraq with 4th ANGLCO (Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company). He served as a JTAC (Joint Terminal Attack Controller) and supported combat operations for the 7th Iraqi Army Brigade.
