Local sheriff’s deputies are looking for a hit-and-run driver following a traffic collision involving a pedestrian in Saugus on Sunday, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

A man suffered an injury to his leg and went to the hospital to have it assessed, said a deputy of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at the scene.

About 5:50 p.m. Sunday, deputies received reports of a pedestrian who was hit by a car at the intersection of Seco Canyon and Bouquet Canyon roads, said Lt. Tom Bryski.

“A person was hit by a black Honda Civic,” he said.

The car was reportedly last seen southbound on Bouquet.

Deputies are following up on reports that the driver had left the Tailgate bar at the intersection, Bryski said.

At 5:20 p.m., firefighters at the Los Angeles County Fire Department received a 911 call from someone on a cell phone, a spokesman for the Fire Department said.

“We got the call as a hit-and-run,” he said. “That a pedestrian was hit.”
