Supervisors request regular immigration reports

County supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to direct the county’s lobbyists to provide monthly reports on the progress of national comprehensive immigration reform efforts.

But members of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors did not take action on a request from Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich to officially endorse the reform proposals put forward by a bipartisan group in the United States Senate.

Some supervisors, including Don Knabe and Gloria Molina, said it is too early to endorse any one proposal and it would be prudent to wait until a more substantive platform is brought forward.
