Coming into the season, Canyon senior quarterback Jordan Adamczyk was not on anyone's radar.

But 2,622 yards and 26 touchdowns later, Adamczyk found himself at the top of all the Foothill League's passing statistics and has now committed to play at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.

"I'm just looking forward to a new offense and working with the great players that are already there," Adamczyk said. "I'm just looking forward to it all. It is going to be a great experience."

Described by the senior as a "pro-style" offense, it was his poise in the pocket, arm strength and release that attracted the Wildcats.

Back on Jan. 30, Adamczyk went on an official visit to the school where he met the coaching staff, the players, and toured the campus.

He was offered a scholarship while on the trip.

On Feb. 1, he accepted.

Weber State plays in the Football Championship Subdivision, formerly know as Division I-AA.

Adamczyk also looked at Southern Utah, Butler University and the University of San Diego, but jumped at the opportunity with the Wildcats.

However, he doesn't deny that it will take an adjustment.

"The new environment, going to a bigger school, just the change is going to be huge," he said.

Expecting to redshirt his freshman year, he will have the opportunity to fight for playing time starting in his second year with the program.

At that time, the likely incumbent quarterback will be in his senior year, ultimately providing the primary reason for Adamczyk's commitment.

"I actually have an opportunity to play," he said.

Immediately following his graduation from Canyon, Adamczyk will spend three weeks with the team learning the offense. After a month back home, he will head to Utah to join the team that finished 10-4 in 2008 as the Co-Big Sky Conference champions.
