Time to halt smoking on restaurant patios

Time for the city of Santa Clarita to end patio smokers.

I went to the Alamo restaurant a few nights ago when it got warm and sat in the patio dining area. It was full of smokers who ruined dining with second-hand smoke.

I wouldn’t take children or anyone to an outside dining establishment in the city of Santa Clarita.

When I asked the city why smoking was allowed on patios, this was its response by email: "Our city’s code does not prohibit smoking in outdoor dining areas such as the Alamo."

My question is: Why not? Isn’t the health of residents more important than the right to smoke in a dining area.

How about some protection for your residents who don’t want to breathe the exhaled smoke of others!
