A man was being sought today for stealing several hundred dollars and brandishing a pistol during a robbery at a Castaic fast-food restaurant.

Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s Lt. Mark Hershey said the robbery took place around 9 p.m. Tuesday at a Jack in the Box restaurant on Hasley Canyon Road, The suspect used a black, semi-automatic pistol in the robbery, Hershey said.

The suspect took “several hundred dollars” from the restaurant and was able to elude capture Tuesday night, Hershey said.

He remains at large this morning, Hershey said. There were no leads as to the identity of the suspect.

Hershey said it appears this robbery was an isolated incident and not related to any other recent crimes.
