Insurance and personal responsbility

Charlie Vignola takes a page from Stephanie Cutter’s playbook in blaming Republicans for the bad health and eventual deaths of his parents.

Cutter is the Obama operative who specifically edited a video of Joe Scoptic to blame Mitt Romney, i.e. rich Republicans, for his wife having no health insurance as she died of cancer.

Shortly after airing, the video was proved a big lie. Cutter was no stranger to Scoptic after all and Scoptic’s wife had her own job with her own insurance that lapsed.

Romney and Republicans had zero to do with her death.

Vignola indicates his mom had no health insurance before turning 65 to get Medicare.

What’s the story there?

As for the proposed killer budget of Paul Ryan, Democrats forget that Obamacare passed more than three years ago, and when it was being hailed by the Obama crowd, one of the first components was Obama promising to cut $560 billion from Medicare.

Republicans were excluded from those talks, and only Democrats voted for it.

Vignola insults his parents.

He speaks of their "manipulation" by Republicans as if they were such mindless people, they could not think on their own.

He didn’t have the power to force them to think like him, thus his anger at Republicans even as his dad lay dying.

While enjoying his own premier health insurance benefits working for a movie studio, Vignola seems resentful for having helped his parents with medical bills.

More anger from another spoiled college liberal ungrateful for his parents’ sacrifice in sending him to college in the first place.

They are the ones to be angry.

That’s where he says he turned from Republican to liberal Democrat.

Vignola adds: "and once again, the wealthy Republican donor class that just got a whopping tax cut, thanks to the money saved by cutting these essential social programs."

The first statement is a bold lie.

There was no cut. Just three short months ago Democrats got a multi-billion-dollar tax increase off of "the rich" (in addition to California’s large tax increase) and next, there have been no cuts to any social programs.

I agree with Vignola on a couple of things. He is in the right party for avoiding personal responsibility and freedom of choice.

How sad his dad had to endure one of his last visits with his son mired in bitterness and hate over politics.

To the senior Mr. Vignola: somehow I believe you are a stand-up, good guy.

May you rest in peace and God bless you as you journey to meet your wife who departed two years ago.
