Sentencing was delayed Friday in the case of a Canyon Country man who was convicted last November of murdering his neighbor with a pump-action shotgun.

Lennie Paul Tracey, 52, was scheduled to be sentenced Friday in San Fernando Superior Court, but the matter has been continued until May 10, according to a court clerk.

Tracey was found guilty of first-degree murder in the Sept. 24, 2011, shotgun shooting death of his neighbor Anthony Davis, 51.

About 3 a.m. on the day of the shooting, Davis went next door to Tracey’s house to complain about an ongoing dispute between the two, according to officials from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Davis was then shot twice at close range.

Tracey claimed he acted in self-defense, believing Davis to be a burglar. He is being held without bail at Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles.
