AngelDogs Foundation will host "Rock, Walk & Wag" on April 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Central Park in Saugus.

The community event is designed to increase awareness of the overpopulation issue, educate the public, and raise funds for spay/neuter services throughout Southern and Central California.

The day will be filled with lots of free, family-oriented fun, live music, vendors, pet adoptions, L.A. food truck favorites, and veterinary clinic services.

"Our goal is to provide the community with a free, festive springtime event, suitable for the entire family," said Lisa Tipton, director of AngelDogs Foundation. "We want to take this opportunity to explain to the public why spay and neuter is so important, how as a pet owner it’s the responsible thing to do, and how this common procedure actually saves so many lives.…and we also want to find as many forever homes as possible for the adoptable dogs and cats brought to Rock, Walk & Wag by the participating shelters and rescues."

Rock Walk & Wag will begin with a short, fund raising dog walk along Central Park’s Perimeter Trail, followed by the festival at 10 a.m.

Those looking to add a four-legged member to the family can stroll along Adoption Alley, sponsored by Natural Balance, where LA County Department of Animal Care and Control, Kern County Animal Control, and Best Friends Animal Society, Los Angeles, will be offering reduced fee adoptions.

Guests will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of vendors and sponsors, take part in the silent auction, enter prize drawings, and enjoy food from popular food trucks such as Hang 10 Tacos, Meat the Greek, Crepe’N Around, Streets of Thailand and Kona Ice.

Performances from Wildwood Highway, Lock Down and Sierra Highway will take place throughout the day. Friendly, well-socialized dogs are welcome to join their owners on the walk and/or at the festival.

Walkers are currently being recruited to help raise funds for spay/neuter, with online registration available at

You can also register to walk day of event, onsite at Central Park in Santa Clarita, the morning of the event. "It’s a fun, fantastic way for anyone to help less fortunate companion pets in their community," Tipton said.

AngelDogs Foundation operates a non-profit mobile spay/neuter clinic that services Los Angeles and Kern Counties, and founded the first all-breed deaf dog rescue ranch ( in the country.

To date, the mobile clinic has fixed, vaccinated and micro-chipped over 26,000 animals and has become a sustainable, self-supporting program. The deaf dog ranch has saved the lives and rehomed hundreds of deaf dogs, rescued from all over the country.
