Canyon Country West Crime Report: Property crimes still top incident list

This past week in Zone 7, the following Part-1 Crimes occurred:

(1) Attempted Residential Burglary, (1) Commercial Burglary, (2) Grand Thefts, (5) Petty Thefts, (2) Shoplift and (4) GTA’s.

An attempted residential garage burglary was reported near the 20300 block of Rue Crevier. An unknown suspect attempted to pry open the pedestrian door leading into the victim’s garage. The suspect(s) was unsuccessful in gaining entry to the garage.

A commercial burglary was reported near the 26800 block of Oak Avenue. An unknown suspect cut the pad lock to a storage unit and took miscellaneous electronic equipment.

A petty theft occurred from the 24-Hour Fitness located at 18645 Via Princessa. The victim’s wallet was stolen from his secured locker. There were no visible signs of forced entry.

A 2007 Yamaha Roadstar Warrior motorcycle was reportedly taken from a storage yard located near the 20600 block of Soledad Canyon Road. It is believed the incident occurred between October 2012 and January 2013.

On Friday, 04/26/2013, a Hispanic male was arrested for shoplifting near the 20600 block of Golden Triangle Road. The suspect was detained by loss prevention personnel after he failed to pay for an item and left the store. The suspect was subsequently arrested by responding deputies.

In addition to shoplifting, there were several arrests made by deputies working in the Canyon Country West area. There were several narcotics related arrests, as well as arrests made for commercial burglary, receiving stolen property and public intoxication.
