Precision Dynamics-St. John company of Valencia announced this week that it has re-branded its business.

The company’s original trade name will become PDC and feature separate brands for each of its two main businesses in healthcare and leisure/entertainment.

As part of its rebranding, the portion of the business that produces the medical wristbands for hospital patients will become PDC Healthcare.

The company’s leisure/entertainment/security wristbands will retain the PDC name.

The new structure enables PDC to target specific markets, said Tracey Carpentier, president of PDC.

The 55-year old company merged with St. John Companies in 2011. The two companies consolidated their headquarters, and moved some of its manufacturing outside the country.

Precision Dynamics relocated to Santa Clarita on July 13, 2012.

In December 2012, the Milwaukee, Wis.-based Brady Corp. acquired Precision Dynamics for $300 million in cash.
