Canyon Country East Crime Report: Deputies investigate rape, property crimes

This week in Canyon Country-East we had 9 Part-1 crimes. Of those reported crimes, there was 1 rape, 2 assaults, 1 robbery, 2 burglaries, 2 larcenies and 1 vehicle burglary.

While the victim was in a juvenile facility in Ventura County, she confided in someone that she was raped 5 years ago. The investigation is ongoing.

An assault occurred in the 17900 block of Sierra Highway. The suspect and victim are friends and were staying at the location. The suspect told the victim she believed someone was following them then attacked the victim. The suspect hit her several times in the head with her knee causing the victim to suffer a concussion.

A deputy involved shooting occurred on Adon Street and Sierra Highway. The suspect, Cory Kieffer was taken into custody two days later. Visit the following link for more information:

A robbery occurred on Megan Drive and Gary Drive. The victim was approached by two males while he was walking down the street. One suspect demanded the victim give him money. The victim gave the suspect $40.00 and ran away.

A residential burglary occurred in the 28900 block of Saddle Circle on May 3rd between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The suspect(s) entered the residence and stolen jewelry from the home. There was no forced entry seen. A burglary occurred at Mitchell Elementary School between April 26th at 10:00 p.m. and April 28th at 9:00 a.m. The suspect(s) entered the school and stole a laptop, MacBook and cameras. Pry marks were seen on several doors.

A petty theft occurred in the 18000 block of Soledad Canyon Road between April 5th at 6:00 p.m. and April 15th at 8:00 a.m. A cordless drill, battery and charger were stolen from the maintenance golf cart. A suspect attempted to steal items after he refused to pay the $.75 debit card fee. After the victim threatened to call 911, the suspect returned the items.

A vehicle burglary occurred in the 28900 block of Silver Saddle Circle. Money and an iPod were stolen from the victim’s vehicle. No forced entry was seen.

Seven arrests were made by proactive deputies for various narcotics violations, assaults and public intoxication.

Continue to lock your windows, garage doors and make sure to also lock your vehicles.
