Interstate 5 was fully reopened to northbound traffic at 1 p.m. today after one lane remained closed down overnight due to a wildfire.

The fire that sparked the closure, started by a big rig fire on Monday, was held at 50 acres overnight, Forest Service spokesman Nathan Judy said. It was expected to be fylly contained by the end of the day today. There are no open flames but crews are keeping an eye out for flare-ups.

The fire slowed northbound traffic on I-5 to a crawl and briefly threatened a mobile home park. One lane of the interstate was shut down overnight.

None of the mobile homes in the Paradise Ranch Mobile Home Park near Templin Highway were evacuated.

The blaze was first reported as a vehicle fire on the northbound Interstate 5 near Templin Highway at 3:37 p.m. Monday, said Inspector Anthony Aikens.
