Global warming is real, but it’s not controllable

I have a hard time following the rationale of global warming and climate change. I think the politicians and activists have it all wrong.

It’s my opinion (free, and you get what you pay for) that we are looking at two different situations and are trying to lump them together.

Man is not powerful enough to control the earth and its actions. Yes, man can screw up the air we breathe, and we are doing just that. Yes, man can screw up the water supply, and we are doing that.

We must do what we can to clean it up. Overpopulation is at the base of these problems. But that is uncontrollable.

Global warming, however, is different. Our trips to Alaska showed us areas of water that were glaciers 200 years ago. What did we do 200 years ago to melt them? Nothing.

While at Mendenhall Glacier (much smaller than it used to be) there were a few rangers on duty. I struck up a conversation with them about global warming.

They were not confused about it. It is a natural happening of the earth that has been going on for over 700 years. What did we do 700 years ago to trigger that?

See, there is absolutely nothing we can do about it. It will keep getting worse over many, many years, making major changes to the earth as we know it.

Eventually it will turn again toward cooling and maybe another ice age. But we are looking at many, many hundreds of years.

Already in some areas the low-lying cities are being flooded out. Venice is a good example. Some streets are flooded, so now they have built raised walkways for people to get around.

The Maldives Islands are reaching the point where all the inhabitants will have to move elsewhere. Manhattan will also get flooded, as will all low-lying coastal areas, and where do those people go? Texas? Mexico?

This problem is too much for the politicians to handle. Nothing they can do anyway.
