Almost as quickly as they gave it a name Tuesday, local firefighters extinguished the Grove Incident brush fire in Valencia.

Shortly after 3 p.m., Los Angeles County firefighters put out the fire west of Decoro Drive and north of McBean Parkway, a Fire Department spokesman said.

Within 15 minutes of its being reported, the Grove Incident fire burned five acres before it was completely contained.

Shortly after 2:45 p.m., emergency response crews with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a fire west of Decoro Drive and north of McBean Parkway, said Inspector Keith Mora.

“We already have a name for it,” he said shortly after 2:45 p.m. “The Grove Incident has units responding.”
Although there was talk of evacuating homes in the area, none was put into effect.
