Investigators with the county coroner’s office have identified the body of a man found in Saugus on Tuesday as that of 61-year-old Victor Beres of Saugus, a spokesman for the office said Wednesday.

Beres’ body was found behind a businesses near the intersection of Bouquet Canyon Road and Plum Canyon Road about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.

Victor Albert Beres was born and raised in Los Angeles. He turned 61 in March.

Beres, who got married in Los Angeles 40 years ago, lived in various places throughout Southern California including Canyon Country on Soledad Canyon Road, Sylmar, Sunland and Malibu.

Although suicide is suspected, no cause or manner of death has yet been determined by the coroner, Corral said.

A Homicide Bureau detective with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the case, he said.
