A red flag warning for high fire danger was issued today for the mountains in Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.

Gusty northwest winds and low humidity were forecast through Thursday morning, National Weather Service forecasters said.

“Very low humidities coupled with continued gusty winds and very dry fuels will likely bring critical fire weather conditions across the mountains,” forecasters said.

Breezy conditions were expected to persist through Thursday night in the Santa Clarita Valley. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph were forecast today with gusts as high as 25 mph tonight.

Winds were expected to diminish Thursday.

Highs in the Santa Clarita Valley were forecast in the 80s through Saturday, with sunny skies and clear nights until Saturday. Patchy fog was expected in the SCV Saturday night, with highs in the 80s again Sunday.
