A Canyon Country man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to four felony counts in Tuesday’s wrong-way crash on Highway 14 that injured 13 people, four of them seriously.

Rick Allen Walker, 54, entered his plea to the charges, including driving under the influence causing injury, in San Fernando Superior Court, according to a news release from the District Attorney’s office. He is being held on $430,000 bail.

Investigators said Walker was under the influence of methamphetamine when he drove onto the northbound freeway lanes heading south.

Nine cars were involved in the collision near Acton; traffic was jammed for hours during evening rush hour.

If convicted, Walker faces up to eight years in state prison.

He returns to court June 27 for another hearing.
