Should there be DUI checkpoints on New Year’s Eve in the SCV?

I have never gone through a DUI checkpoint, so I don't know how many officers man these checkpoints. However, after reading how few people are arrested at these checkpoints, compared to how many are arrested by patrolling officers, it seems as though taxpayer money would be better spent if these checkpoint officers roamed the streets instead.

Concur, hopeful.

The added benefit of a patrol stop is the LEO presumably has reasonable cause.
