What do you think of the speed limits on the Santa Clarita Valley's major streets?

Let's try enforcing what we have first?

I commend the Signal for addressing the major issue that the people have in Santa Clarita. The traffic here is horrible, has been that way for many years, and the city does not do anything about it.

The problems are not with the speed limits, but with the RED LIGHT SIGNAL TIMING.

You cannot drive anywhere without hitting red light after red light.
This results in frustration, forcing people to exceed the speed limit. It is not a racetrack.

It's the drivers not the signals

I agree with lars1 -- it seems like the timing of signals is messed up. When you're going down a main road, you often catch every light for drivers who are coming out of side streets. I would think they could work out the timing to be better so the main roads don't stop as much?

I am concerned with some of the speed limits. For example, on Copper Hill there are sections that are 55 mph where I often see kids walking on the sidewalk. Seems a bit unsafe because there's no protection if a car were to run over the curb?

@Niteshoa -- people will always go more than the speed limit. I would rather our police force be out busting drug dealers/gang members than giving out more speeding tickets.
