Should our local water companies start fining customers who don’t cut back on water usage?

This is really stupid.

Residents use 20% of the water in California. 80% of water use is by agriculture.

If the residents save 25%, that is a net savings of only 5%.

If the residents save 50%, that is a net savings of only 10%.

Agriculture need to stop using large amounts of water for high water need crops.

The city should stop the center median landscaping. I just drove on Soledad and saw hundreds of sprinkler heads. Each sprinkler will use water, and there were none before the landscaping project.

This will punish those of us who have been conserving water for years (who will find it very difficult to cut back even more), and reward those who have been wasting water (for whom it will be easy to cut water use).

This just doesn't make sense, nor is it fair. But when politicians are involved, it won't!
